Access all settings from the Settings icon in the left-hand menu. Settings are organized into tabs across the top of the page.

Appearance

Theme

Switch between Light and Dark mode. Your preference is saved to your profile and applies across all devices.

Timezone

Select your timezone from 50+ options covering major regions (Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific). Your timezone is auto-detected on first login but can be changed at any time.
Set your timezone to match your trading session hours. This ensures your trade timestamps, calendar view, and daily P&L calculations align with your actual trading day.

Profile

  • Display Name — edit the name that appears on your P&L cards and across the app
  • Profile Picture — upload a new image or remove the existing one
Click Edit Profile to make changes.

Data Backup & Restore

Exporting your data

Download a complete backup of everything in your TradeAlign account:
  • Trading accounts
  • All trades
  • Playbooks
  • Notebooks
  • Settings

Click Export All Data

In the Preferences tab, find the Data Backup & Restore section and click Export All Data.

Verify your email

Enter your account email to confirm the export. This must match the email you signed up with.

Download

A JSON file downloads automatically, named tradealign_backup_YYYY-MM-DD.json.

Restoring from a backup

Importing a backup permanently overwrites all existing data in your account — trades, accounts, playbooks, and notebooks. This cannot be undone.

Click Select Backup File

Choose a previously exported .json file (max 50MB).

Verify your email

Enter your account email to confirm. Only backups from your email address can be restored.

Confirm the import

Read the warning carefully, then click I Understand, Import Data to proceed.

Security

Change Password

Update your password by entering your current password and choosing a new one.
Password changes only apply to accounts created with email and password. If you signed up using Google or another SSO provider, your password is managed through that provider’s settings.

Delete Account

Permanently delete your TradeAlign account and all associated data.
  • This removes everything: trades, accounts, playbooks, notebooks, and settings
  • This action cannot be undone
  • You must type the exact phrase “DELETE THIS ACCOUNT” to confirm
Before deleting your account, consider exporting your data as a backup. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered.

Sessions

Logout

Log out of your current device. You’ll be redirected to the home page.

Logout All Devices

Immediately end all active sessions across every device — including the one you’re currently using. You’ll need to log in again on each device.
Use Logout All Devices if you suspect someone has unauthorized access to your account, or if you’ve logged in on a shared or public computer.

View your current plan and manage your subscription.

To upgrade: Click Upgrade to Pro from the Billing tab. You’ll be directed to a secure Stripe checkout. To manage your subscription: If you’re already on Pro, click Manage Billing to open the Stripe customer portal where you can update payment methods, view invoices, or cancel.
